What We’re Here to Do
The SPO AI Catalysts Group helps SPO teams adopt AI in ways that are practical, sustainable, and actually useful. We’re not here to build big systems or run delivery projects. We’re here to help people work smarter, learn faster, and get more out of AI in their day-to-day roles.
We think the biggest gains come not from a handful of large AI projects, but from hundreds of small improvements building up across every chapter in SPO.
How We Work
Each Catalyst is embedded within an SPO chapter and works alongside their colleagues to:
- Spot opportunities where AI can reduce friction or add value in existing workflows
- Help teams get started with AI tools, prompts, and lightweight automations
- Run hands-on sessions, workshops, and office hours within their chapter
- Share what works (and what doesn’t) across the broader Catalysts network
This is peer-to-peer, chapter-level support. Not top-down training programmes.
What We Focus On

| Skills and prompting | Upskilling in prompting, AI-assisted analysis, and low-code building |
| Knowledge sharing | Finding reusable patterns and solutions that work across SPO chapters |
| Responsible use | Making sure every solution is compliant with Roche governance and enterprise guardrails |
Working with the AI Incubator
For larger, more engineering-intensive initiatives, SPO has a separate AI Incubator. The Catalysts Group handles the grassroots adoption layer. The Incubator handles structural and system-level challenges. The two go hand in hand.
